There are three main ways we install the fibre cables needed for ultrafast full fibre broadband:
The approach we use depends on several factors, so we fully assess the area and carry out extensive surveys to identify the best approach before we start any construction work. The ideal is to use existing infrastructure, but there are times when there is none, or it is full or blocked, in which case we must install our own exchange boxes and ducts or telegraph poles.
A wayleave is a legal agreement between the landlord or landowner and Spring Fibre, giving us permission to access their private land to install and maintain our equipment. If you are renting your home or business, you will need a wayleave before we can connect your property to full fibre. Please speak to your chosen ISP about getting a wayleave in place to get connected to our network.
When don’t we need a wayleave?
There is usually no need for a wayleave if the landowner has requested a broadband installation or for us to carry out works.
How long does a wayleave last?
A wayleave is usually an ongoing agreement that will apply to the equipment it covers even if the owner of the land or property changes.
How long is there to consider a wayleave request?
We cannot start work until the landlord or landowner has signed the agreement. If you have any questions, please do get in touch.
Once everything is ready, we will work with your broadband provider to install and complete your connection. The time it will take will depend on your chosen broadband provider and their agreed terms and conditions.
On your installation day, our team will arrive during the agreed window and discuss the best route to bring our full fibre from the street to your home or business. Once this is agreed, an engineer will connect the fibre optic cable to a Customer Splice Point on the outside of your property and drill through the wall to bring the fibre inside your premises.
As part of our partnerships with our ISP partners, Spring will carry out your full fibre installation.
We will not carry out any works on your property until you have decided to sign up to our network via your preferred broadband provider. When we bring our fibre network to your street, we leave connectors that allow us to connect the fibre to your property when you’re ready. This can be done in several ways. We can use existing ducting underground to feed our cables through to your property or use existing overground poles. If these options are not possible, we will discuss the options with you to find the best way to get you connected.
Yes, but you’ll need permission from your landlord. You just need to speak to your preferred broadband provider and they will help you get the necessary permissions to get connected.
No, Spring Fibre are a wholesaler, which means we build the broadband network, and our ISP partners take orders from customers. We do this so that you can have the most choice and choose a provider who is best for you. To choose a provider, just check your postcode.
We are sometimes able to connect properties just outside our network area. If your area is not on our Locations page but you would like ultrafast broadband, please register your interest with your preferred broadband provider. We work closely with them to make sure we take all interest into consideration when planning where to build our broadband network.
To get connected, simply check your postcode and sign up with one of our trusted broadband partners. They will handle your order and arrange the best installation time that suits you.
